Children’s Ministry covers newborns through 5th grade. Our caring volunteers provide a dynamic child-targeted, action-packed and safe environment to learn about the greatest book ever written!
Sunday mornings at 9:30 AM, September - June.
Nursery for babies and toddler care for the 2 & 3 year olds is available for the full hour in Room 13.
Children 4 & 5 years old will have their own classroom. They will have snacks and activities geared for them. Teacher is Annette Brewer, with volunteers providing assistance. Meets in Room 14.
Children’s Church is available for 1st - 5th grade boys and girls during this time. Children attend morning worship with their parents. They will be released from the Worship time by the Pastor to take part in a short Children’s Church program designed for them. Teachers are Sarah Reller and Robin Davis, meeting in Room 12.
4th -6th Grade Boys: There is an optional class for these students. They meet with Teacher Larry Herlocker in Room 1. The focus for this class is mentoring, memorizing Scripture and Bible time.
Sunday mornings at 11:00 AM, September - June.
Nursery is available for babies up to 2 years old. These children are cared for by Sue Swarat, a dedicated Mom who has cared for the babies at RVFC for many years. She is assisted by volunteer helpers. Nursery is in Room 13.
2 & 3 Year Olds meet in Room 13 for stories, play time and snacks. Taught by the experienced team of Joyce Mills and Clara Lemmons.
4 & 5 Year Olds and Kindergarten children learn of Jesus’ love for them in a loving atmosphere with lots of activities. Teacher is Sally Reinke, assisted by volunteers. This class is held in Room 14.
1st & 2nd Grade students are helped by Teachers Deb and Jeff Christian to grow in their knowledge of Jesus as Lord and Savior. Meets in Room 9.
3rd & 4th Grade students will be using their reading skills to learn more about the Bible and what it means to be a Christian through strong Bible teaching and memorization of Scripture. Teacher is Tammy Bradley in Room 12.
Fifth and Sixth Grade students will discover new, practical and fun ways to grow in Christ. Taught by Evelyn Hoyer in Room 10.
Wednesday evenings, September - June: Children are welcome at the family meal time at 6:00 PM in the foyer. Starting at 6:30, nursery care is available for children newborn to 4 years old provided by Bobbi Hieb in Room 13. Classes are held for children 1st through 3rd grade in Room 12. 4th - 6th grade girls meet with teacher Mary Dumke in Room 8, and 4th - 6th grade boys are taught by Larry Herlocker in Room 1.
During July & August, nursery is provided for little ones through 4 years old, for both worship services. For the 9:30 AM service, children who are 5 or older attend with their parents. Children’s Church is offered during the second half of the 11:00 AM service.
In addition, Rose Valley Friends hosts Vacation Bible School every summer for children of the church community and their friends. Adults and youth spend many hours preparing crafts, rehearsing skits and songs, donating treats and just making sure the children have wonderful memories of VBS and know how much Jesus loves them. Our children also benefit from attending camps each year held through Northwest Yearly Meeting, our church conference.
